An authentic sushi bar with local decoration and beautiful plates. You have to book well in advance as there are only 12 seats and it's in a popular place of Kyoto. They have a set menu with i or 2 known fish, and all others are the choice of chef. The fish quality is high level and very fresh.... and really tasty. If you are a good eater, you need to be prepared to order a lot and spend money. I personally ordered 1 set menu + 30 sushi and a miso. BTW assorted Sashimi is also amazing. This is a highly recommended sushi place.

We arrived in Kyoto and took a tour of the city and after visiting the local monastery we were looking for a place to eat Otani sushi and we came across this place with good people and a good atmosphere with good food, it is recommended to go in

This sushi was amazing!! My fiancé and I were wandering around for a while and found this place. We got a seat right away. We got the premium plate and it was so fresh! The fatty tuna and salmon were our favorites!

This was our 3rd choice restaurant and ended up being one of my favorite Japan meals. We had tried going to 2 other sushi restaurants prior to this that were all sold out. We just walked into this restaurant after some googling and were the only customers in the 12 seater restaurant. The server spoke very good English and provided us a picture menu and English menu. We each did the premium sushi assortment which was 8 pieces of sashimi and 1 order of tuna rolls. It was very filling and delicious. The server even offered to take a picture of us. I highly recommend this place. Try going early to beat the dinner crowds (we were there around 4 pm)

This place was top notch! Greeted us with a nice refreshing hot towel. The food was delicious and service was awesome. The fatty tuna was my favorite. Highly recommended!

This place is AMAZING. They have top level sushi for a super reasonable price. We ordered their Super Premium Set, which is 8 pieces of sushi, and oh my goodness it was so good. It cost about 40 usd, which is pretty cheap considering that this is super premium. We didn't catch the server's name, but he was super great! When our food arrived he offered to take a photo for us, which we never experienced before. The restaurant was super quiet, which made it really easy to talk. This place is a must go if you are visiting Kyoto. Would definitely visit again.

Delicious food and even better service! This hidden gem is intimate and welcoming - you will be taken care of here. The sushi is incredible and the chef is a kind man who will accommodate to your tastes and recommend what he thinks you’ll best enjoy. If you’re looking for an authentic, traditional Japanese hole in the wall with reasonably priced food and outstanding service then you need to come here.
